You’re only worth what you can carry with you. Perhaps that’s why my wife is constantly making fun of me and all of my bags.
I always need to bring supplies with me for when Armageddon strikes. You know; rain gear, boots, hunting knives, flashlights, food, glasses, cash (small bills of course) medicines …
OK so I don’t carry that stuff everywhere I go but, I do think that way. I’m always preparing to have to move in a hurry.
That’s why I’m always buying more books. Not because I can grab them in a tornado; because if a tornado destroys my home, I can carry the stories in my head.
Look, I’ve got plenty of material things. But if I had to take an inventory of every single thing in my house – all of my ‘stuff’ – and keep only what was necessary, what would be left?
To me, letting go of stuff means more room for happiness.
